Brother of L. Wray (see there), accompanied the latter on his expedition to the Eastern Districts of Kinta and Batang Padang in Perak (Malay Peninsula) in 1888. During the trip he collected living plants (cf. Journ. Str. Br. Roy. As. Soc. no 21,1890, p. 134).
