Of the China Borneo Company, resided for a period of some twenty years in Br. N. Borneo. Diospyros juppi Merr. was named after him.

 The above-mentioned plant was collected by him in Sept. 1919, and was numbered 727.¹ Possibly numbered in the series of the Forest Department British North Borneo (see there, also for distribution of sets [SAN]).
