Systematic bota nist in the Museums Department, Fed. Mal. States, 1921-24; Curator of the Herbarium, Botanic Gardens, Singapore, 1924 onwards; Febr. 1937-July 1938 taking charge of the Department in Penang, subsequently return to normal duties in Singapore. He left Singapore before the invasion of the Japanese, and returned in 1946. In 1948 he was appointed Assistant Director, and finally Director; in June 1954 he retired and settled at Aberdeen. Author of ‘Malayan Wild Flowers’ (1949-54). Author of botanical papers.1 |
