Appointed Surgeon Magistrate, Selinsing, Pahang (Malay States) in 1886; he resigned government service to join the Duff Company in 1903. From that year he worked in Kelantan for the remainder of his stay in the East; from 1908 in government service again (Apr. 1915-Aug. 1918 he served in the war); retired in 1921.1 He is commemorated in Cyriandra gimlettei Ridl. |
