In 1892 in the service of the Sultan of Johore. Ischaemum feildingianum A.B. Rendle was named after him. |

Malay Peninsula. In 1892, at the instance of the Government of Johore, he visited the foot of Mt Ophir, and several places upon the coasts of the State, e.g. Parit Jawa and Bt Muar, from the Kesang River (on the border of Malacca) round to the Endau (or Indau) on the border of Pahang (Oct.) and to the islands off the latter coast (Oct.), successively: P. Aor, P. Dayong, P. Tinggi. Part of his journey was in the company of Lake and Kelsall (see there, also sub Liter.) (cf. Burkill in Gard. Bull. Str. Settlem. 4, 1927, nos 4-5). |
