Son of the following, studied botany in Holland and at Zürich (Switzerland), worked a long time, from Aug. 1915 until Febr. 1920, in the Treub Laboratory at Buitenzorg on the embryology of Laurembergia, a marsh-plant of the Diëng Plateau.1 Then he was Estate Manager of a Cinchona plantation, and subsequently Botanist of the Besoeki Experiment Station (Djember) in E. Java. He returned to Europe on account of illness. Later in Java again? Liparis bleyi J.J.Sm. was named after him. |
