Born: 1885, Amsterdam, Holland. Probably dead, brought to Poland by the Germans in 1943. |

Was educated at Wageningen Agricultural College (Holland), taking his doctorate in tropical agriculture in 1930. After having been for some years a plantation assistant and estate manager in Java, he entered the employ of the Sugar Experiment Station at Pasoeroean (E. Java). He was successively stationed at Djokja (1917-21) as Group-Adviser, and at Pasoeroean (1921-25) as Inspector of the Field Service; subsequently Agricultural Adviser of the Pamanoekan and Tjiasem Lands at Soemedang (W. Java). Later he returned to Holland and in 1931 he was appointed teacher at the Colonial Agricultural School at Deventer; he was dismissed by the Germans in 1941. In 1943 the Germans brought him to Poland, after an attempt to escape to Paris. |
