An amateur insect collector who was sent out to India (Calcutta) and later to Java (Batavia) in the employ of an English business firm. At the Cape, in Bengal, and Java, he collected insects for English and Dutch friends, amongst others for Th. Horsfield. In 1817 he returned to Copenhagen as shipowner and owner of a sugar-refinery at Slotholmsgade. |
