Born: 1904, Bandoeng, Java.

 

career:

Studied biology at Utrecht University, taking his Ph.Dr’s degree in 1930; subsequently on the staff of the Java Sugar Experiment Station at Pasoeroean, and from 1931-32 stationed at Kediri as a Group-Adviser. Since 1933 Agriculturist of the Djember Experiment Station (E. Java).

Author of several agricultural papers.

 

Collecting localities:

W. Java: environs of Bandoeng and Batavia (1923).-E. Java: near Kali Sat (SE of Djember) (1935).-1936. E. Java: G. Jang (Apr. 10-14, climbing the Argapoera on the 13th; possibly no collections made);1 G. Smeroe (collected ? );2 Lombok (Lesser Sunda Islands): G. Rindjani (July);3 E. Java: Zuidergebergte, Kali Sanen (Oct.).-Watangan Mts ( ? Dec. 1939) near Batoe-oeloe.

Herb. Bog. [BO]: small collection, mainly from Lombok; dupl. in Herb. Djember Exp. Station (except from Lombok); Herb. Leiden [L]: ± 50 nos of plants from W. Java (coll. 1923); in Herb. Pasoer. [PAS now in BO]: 1 no from Djember.
