Born: 1894, Waarde, Z., Holland.

career:

Forest Officer who entered the D.E. Indian Forest Service in 1919; at first stationed in the teak districts of Java, and in 1920 put at the disposal of Endert (see there) for the forest exploration of Palembang.¹ In June 1925 he was transferred to Buitenzorg; from 1927 stationed in Java; in 1934 appointed teacher of the Agricultural School at Buitenzorg, and since 1937 stationed at Poerworedjo (Centr. Java).

When on European furlough in 1926 he took his Dr’s degree at Wageningen.² He is the author of other sylvicultural papers, and of a text-book on pedology.
