Took her Ph. D. at Chicago in 1908; since 1916 Professor of Botany, Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, Mass. (U.S.A.), worked in the Foreigners’ Laboratory at Buitenzorg, W. Java, from May-July 1931, and once more in 1937.1 She studied the germination of fern spores and the development of the prothallia, especially those of representatives of more primitive families.2 |

She collected ferns at Tjibodas, W. Java (July 1937). The collection was dried at the Buitenzorg Herbarium, identified by O. Posthumus, and subsequently sent to her. |
