From about 1878-90 Head of the Medical Service in the Straits Settlements; a friend of G. King. In 1888 he sent in a collection of wood samples to an exhibition in England. He might have collected some plants. Ficus rowelliana King was named after him (cf. Backer, Verkl. Woordenb., 1936). |
