career:

Ex-officer of the D.E. Indian Army; successively Custodian of the Museum of the Batavian Society of Arts and Sciences, of the Colonial Institute at Amsterdam, and of the Ethnological State Museum at Leiden. He was topographer-ethnographer of the Stirling Expedition to New Guinea in 1926 (cf sub Docters van Leeuwen),¹ and leader of the New Guinea expedition 1939 of the Royal Dutch Geographical Society (cf. sub Eyma).²

He collected material of 2 Dendrobiums on the central range in the basin of the Upper Rouffaer River in Dutch New Guinea in 1926, which Docters van Leeuwen presented to Herb. Bog. [BO] in 1928.
