career:

German, for several years on the staff of the Research Department Office Harrison & Crosfield, Paya Pinang Estate (Tebing Tinggi, Deli, Sumatra). At the outbreak of World War II he was dismissed by the English firm and worked for some time with the Rubber Restriction. He must have been interned by the Dutch in 1940. In his spare time he made trips to Tapanoeli, Island of Nias, etc.
