Whose name was erroneously written ‘Jannet’ (see Suppl. Cycl. Fl. Mal. 1, 5, 1958) in Roxburgh Hort. Beng. |
|
Is mentioned as a donor of plants from the Moluccas (1810), the Philippines (1811), Mauritius (1810-11), Madagascar and the S. Sea Islands (1811), in Roxb. Hort. Beng. 1814. I assume that the plants were not collected by himself, but were sent from a botanic garden. Was Director of the Governor’s Garden at Ile-de-France (= Mauritius) and Bourbon.1 As already assumed he distributed material from the garden to Calcutta, etc., from about 1809-1811. |
