Zoologist who studied at Leiden and took his Ph.Dr’s degree in 1924; in 1913 for 7 months on P. Simaloer (W of N. Sumatra) with E.R. Jacobson (see there), and subsequently for 3 months in Sumatra West Coast to make zoological collections; Zoologist of the Institute for Plant Diseases at Buitenzorg, 1919-32 (in 1927 temporary Assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory at Batavia); teacher at the K.W. III school at Batavia, 1932-33; ditto at the N.I.A.S. (Medical School), Soerabaja, 1933-39. When on leave in Holland, he was forced to stay on account of the war, and retired in 1940. Zoologist of a Dutch North New Guinea expedition in 1920-21 (cf. sub Lam). |
