Ornithologist who after school years in Japan, was educated at Cambridge University (1922-27), and returned home after several months of travel through the United States, Canada, and Hawaii. In later years he travelled extensively in Europe, Africa, Korea, and China, and conducted an expedition to the Philippines in 1928-29. Author of numerous articles and books on birds1; Ph. of India, D.S. of the University of California and Hokkaido. |
