Entered the D.E.I. Government service in 1863; from 1874-78 and 1879-85 Assistant Resident of Sintang (W. Borneo); since 1885 Resident of Borneo’s Western Division; pensioned off in 1891. He was a promoter of the interests of agriculture and industry. Shorea gysbertiana Burck was named after him. |
