Joined the Forest Department Malay Peninsula in 1931; since 1936 State Forest Officer in Brunei (NW. Borneo); seconded Fiji in 1941. Left Singapore under the Malayanisation scheme on Feb. 24, 1960, for Australia. He later returned to England. Shorea flemmichii Symington was named after him. |
