Till 1884 official of the Botanic Garden at Sydney, who collected Nephrolepis duffii Th. Moore (cf. Backer, Verkl. Woordenb., 1936) in Duke of York Island (Bismarck Archipelago).¹ As the plant was described in 1878, the collecting must have taken place previously.
