Was a teacher in Holland for some years; in 1922 he sailed for Java, where he was appointed at a secondary school at Soerabaja. In the few remaining years of his life he made a large collection of plants.1 Ixora dorgelonis Bremek. was discovered by him in Bawean. |

Herb. Pasoer. [PAS now in BO]: ± 3000 nos (bought after his death, with his notes); dupl. in Herb. Bog. [BO] (identified by Backer), and Leiden [L]. The Bawean collection contains some ferns.2 He presented living plants from the environs of Soerabaja to Hort. Bog. in 1925. |
