Dierckx, E.P. Frans

Born: 1863, Turnhout, Belgium. Died: 1937, Godinne, Belgium.

 

career:

Roman Catholic priest (1895), biologist who specialized in the study of Penicillium. From May 1901-Sept. 1902 he made a study tour to Java, Ceylon1 and British India. Since 1903 teacher in the Faculty of Sciences at Namur.

 

Collecting localities:

1901-02.2 Java (8 months, till Apr. 1902): mainly at Buitenzorg, in the Foreigners’ Laboratory; climbing six volcanoes.
