Was educated in Holland and came back to the D.E.I. towards the end of 1921, in the employ of the Civil Service; before the war Assistant Resident. He was stationed in Palembang (S. Sumatra) 1926-28, in the Western Division of Borneo 1928-34; after expiry of his study leave in Europe, in Palembang again, Dec. 1936-1938; at Manado (N. Celebes) 1938-41, and since Fehr. 1941-1942 at Makassar (SW. Celebes). During his European leave he passed the examination for Indian economy. In 1949 working at the Nat. Hist. Mus., Leiden. Author of several papers relating to his stay in Borneo.1 |
