From 1934 onwards he made several exploration trips in South America and Indonesia, collecting mostly ethnographical and zoological material, preserved for the greater part in the Statens Etnografiska Museum and the Naturhistoriska Riksmuseet in Stockholm, and in the Naturhistoriska Museet, Göteborg. Author of several popular books on his travels, ethnology and zoology. In 1951 residing at Quito, Ecuador, and an active member of the Ecuadorian Institute of Anthropology and Geography. |
