Bijhouwer, Ali Pieter Cornelis

Born: 1902, Amsterdam, Holland. Died: May 10, 1938, by car accident near Malang, Java.

career:

Was educated at Wageningen Agricultural College, and was appointed Consulting Horticulturist in D.E.I. Government service in 1930; at first he was stationed at Buitenzorg, since March 1931 at Pasoeroean, and since the end of 1935 at Malang. When on European leave he took his Dr’s degree at Wageningen,¹ and after his return to Java he was stationed at Batavia in 1937 and since 1938 at Soerabaja.

1931-38. E. Java: Kepoeh (teak forest S of Pasoeroean, and G. Abang), G. Bao(e)ng (near Lawang), Ratji (experiment field on the way Pasoeroean-Probolinggo), Randoegang (exper. field on the way to Kepoeh), G. Semongkrong, G. (N)Dorowati (near Poedjon), Sekar (exper. field near Poedjon), G. Lamongan, Rànoe Daroengan (S. slope G. Smeroe), Songgoriti (between Batoe and Poedjon), Gemoeloengtonggo (exper. field Cheribon, Centr. Java), Tosari (G. Tengger), Pasoeroean (town and along kali Redjoso and kali Tjaloeng), Moeneng; W. Java: Tjikopo, Pasir Leutik, G. Salak, G. Tjibodas, Tjampea, Buitenzorg kotta (= town).
