career:

Joined the Forest Dept Malay Peninsula in 1914; since 1934 Conservator of Forests, finally State Forest Officer Perak; after internment by the Japanese he retired and settled in England.

He is cited by J. Monachino as the collector of Alstonia angustifolia Wall. ex A.DC. in Selangor, Malay Peninsula (cf. Pacif. Sci. 3, 1949, p. 160). The specimen is numbered 18151, evidently in the C.F. (see sub Conservator of Forests) series; the cited specimen in Herb. Sing. [SING], but probably in Kuala Lump. [KEP] too.
