From time to time sent living ornamental plants to Hort. Bog., in about 1883. Evidently he was a lover of plants; in the library of the Batavian Society for Arts and Sciences is a catalogue of living cultivated plants, which were offered for sale.1 |

In 1899 he sent dried material of ‘Kedji Beling’, one of the lithotriptic plants, to Herb. Leiden [L]. |
