Twin brother of E.D. Merrill (see below), graduate of the University of Maine. He entered the U.S. Army as a private in the Spanish-American war, being commissioned later as a lieutenant, remaining in the army until he retired as Brigadier General in 1940. He is living now at Fort Thomas, Ky. He served in the Philippines from 1900-1902. |
