NE. New Guinea: Waria Distr., Zaka (in Sept. 1913). In the same year he made 2 tours with the missionaries Pilhofer and Flierl, the 1st: from Zaka, ascending the Men River, crossing the coastal mountains to the Waria to near the tributary Bubu, middle course of the Waria; the 2nd: ascending the Waria River, crossing the watershed (2400 m alt.) between the Waria and the Markham River, and to Wate Valley, upper course of the Wotut, southern tributary of the Markham, subsequently along the Pale River to the lower course of the Markham.1 |
