career:

Took his Dr’s degree at Yale University in 1922; Research Associate of the University of California; he made a study tour under a grant by the Guggenheim Brothers of N.Y. City, to the Pagaï Islands (southern group of the Mentawei Islands, W of Sumatra) in 1926, staying from March till July¹ in N. Pageh (= Pagaï), collecting in the south tip.
