career:

Of the firm of Kehding at Medan, Sumatra East Coast; in the eighties German consul.¹ Luerssenia kehdingiana Kuhn was named after him in the year 1882.

Collecting localities:

1878-?88. Singapore and the southern part of the Malay Peninsula; Perak and Malacca.-Sumatra East Coast: Langkat (prob. before 1882).

collections:

Fr. Kehding sent plants from Singapore to Beccari in 1879, collections dated Dec. 1878² and July 1879. In Herb. Florence [FI]. Several of his Malayan plants with Herb. Beccari in Florence [FI].

Some of his Sumatra ferns were described by Chr. Luerssen,³ erroneously cited as coming from West, instead of East Sumatra.
