A non-commissioned officer who was through the Atjeh campaign from 1892-94; in 1894 appointed Assistant at Soengei Boeloe Estate (Deli, Sumatra East Coast), from 1899-1902 Manager of the same; for the following 3 years Manager of the Tobacco Estate Hessa (Deli), from 1906-08 of the Tobacco Estate Sentang (Deli) and from 1908-13 of Bandar Baroe; 1913-29 Director of an emigrant asylum at Medan (Deli). He returned to Europe in 1930. Trichoglottis heidemanianus Schltr. was named after him. |
