career:

Was educated at the Horticultural School at Boskoop; sent out to Indonesia with a regiment of grenadiers in November 1947; stationed successively^, at Bima (Soembawa), Makassar and Watampone (Celebes).

Collecting localities:

1948. Lesser Sunda Islands: Sumbawa, at Bima (Jan.-May); SW. Celebes: Maros (Nov.).-1949. SW. Celebes: Watampone; Centr. Java: on G. Slamat and vicinity, Bobotsari, Ketenger.

This second collection was identified at Leiden in 1950; in private herbarium, for the greater part with watercolour drawings. In total > 103 nos.
