Trained at Kew, in the service of the Gardens Department Str. Settlements from 1878 or 1879 to 1910, first in Singapore1 and since March 1903 Superintendent of Gardens and Forests, Penang. He retired in 1910 from ill health; afterwards he undertook journeys to S. America and elsewhere for the purpose of reporting on rubber. |
