Philippine collector in the employ of the Bureau of Science, Manila, at least from 1916 onwards, mostly working with others, i.e. Ramos etc. Still living at this moment. He was assigned to the Chicago-Philippine Expedition headed by Dr Harry Hoogstraal (see there) in 1946-47 as botanical collector. Cyathea edañoi Copel., Cryptocarya edañoii Merr., etc. were named after him. |

Luzon: Mt Cagua and Mt Balatongan; in 1930: Camiguin and Babuyan Isls, and the northern part of Cagayan Prov. in Luzon.-1946. Luzon: Manila, Rizal; Mindanao: Mt Apo and Mt McKinley (Aug.-Nov.); Bugasan, Parang, Cotabato & Lanao Boundary (Dec.)-In 1947. Luzon: Manila and vicinity; Palawan (March-May); Mindanao: Mt Apo, Mt McKinley, Cotabato-1948. Mindoro: Mt Halcon and Mt Ilong (Jan.-March); Luzon: Lamao; Negros Or: Cuernos Mts, Lakes Danao and Balinsasayao and vicinity (in the eastern part of the island) (May-June, Aug.-Sept.).-1949. Mindanao: Davao (March-Apr., Aug.-Sept.); Negros Or. (May).-1950. Leyte (March-Apr.).-1951. Palawan: Victoria Peaks (March), Samar (Dec.).-1952. Samar (Jan.), Leyte (March-Apr.).-In Luzon at least up to 1953.-Sulu and Jolo (Feb. 1957); collecting till 1959. |

Numbered in the P.N.H. series (cf. sub Philippine National Herbarium) [PNH], thousands of numbers, including c. 1700 from the Chicago-Philippine Expedition, of which a set in Herb. Chicago [F] too. He collected mosses too.2 Also dupl. in Herb. Edinb. [E] (Philip. Is.), partly with J. Sinclair. |
