Born: 1883, Holzwickede, Westfalen, Germany. |

Was educated at the Technical College at Darmstadt; for 13 years employed in Samoa, viz Manager of a cocoa plantation 1907-10, Assistant at the Phytopathological Institution, 1910-15, and connected with the Magn. Meteor. Samoa Observatory, 1915-20; subsequently Group-Adviser of the Experiment Station for the Java Sugar Industry (Pasoeroean), stationed at Sitoebondo 1921-27, and Chief of the Field Experiment Service, besides Inspector of the Field Service 1927-35. When pensioned off, he returned to Germany and settled at Lindheim, Ober-Hessen. |
