Formerly of the Bot. Institute at Jena and then Professor at Köln; since appointed Professor, Director of the Botanical Institute and Garden, Tübingen, Germany. In 1938-39 he travelled in the D.E.I. at the expense of the ‘Reichsforschungsrat’ (State Research Council). In the second half of 1951 he made a study tour to Java once more, staying at Bogor (= Buitenzorg) with a German ‘Tropen-Stipendium’. |

Sumatra: Medan-Tobasee (Lake Toba)-Tebing-Tinggi; Dk Tinggi-Radja; Balige; Sibolga; Nias; Banjak Isls; Simalur; Tapatuan, Singkil, Meulaboe, mountains between Tapatuan and Meulaboeh, Tjalang, Kota-Radja, mountains between Tjalang and Kota-Radja, Bireuen, Lho-Seumawe, Idi, Langsar, lowland and mangrove in this region, Kabandjahe, Kota-Tjane, Blangkedjeren; in southern direction near G. Loser, Central Gajo Mts, Tawarsee (Lake Tawar) and trips in the vicinity, Bireuen. S. Sumatra: Telok-Betong-Palembang, Benkulen, Ketaoen, Lebong-Tanda. |
