Resident of Edwardsville, Kansas, a Quaker (Friend) who collected plants on his Friends Service Committee missions in the Far and Near East. In 1948-49 he was in northern China and collected about Shanghai, Hongkong, and Manila (Luzon) on the way home. In 1951-52 he was in India in the same work, returning via Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, and Israel. |
