He made several expeditions, among which a Philippine one from 1907-09, to accompany the Bureau of Fishery steamer ‘Albatros’ for the purpose of making zoological collections for the National Museum; he left Washington early in Oct. 1907. In 1908 he collected in the W. part of Basiao Isl., offshore from Catbalogan, Samar, and on Twai Twai Isl. (Febr.). Evidently made his Borneo collection in Sandakan also in 1908.1 |

Herb. U.S. Nat. Herb. Wash. [US]: 565 Philip. plants (mostly ferns), 60 from Borneo; orchids in Herb. O. Ames [GH]; dupl. in Gray Herb. [GH] and Herb. N.Y. Bot. Gard. [NY]. The Borneo plants are numbered in between the Philippine ones, so probably they have been collected during the same expedition. |
