Notes and translation of the 1566 text: Using the sign on a page will lead to a transcription of the text (in black), with added notes like the currently used latin name, local names, old names, and miscellaneous (in brown). When available, names are given in Dutch (NL), English (UK), Greek (Gr, from Dodonaeus), Latin (Lat, from Dodonaeus), Italian (It), used in apothecaries (apot), in the old Dutch dialect of Brabant (Br), old Dutch (ND = Nederduits), or old German (HD).
Information on medicinal use: Only for a few plants notes about their medicinal use are added. Most plants have a multitude of uses, and adding this information would double the size of this web site. There are, however, numerous web sites dealing with this subject and searching either on 'medicinal plants' or a specific plant name will give you all the information you seek.
