Note: Dodonaeus wrote: 'Wildt wollecruyt ....den Sauien seer ghelijck....aen die Maelruwe van verwen geel' ( Wild woolly herb....looks like Salvia .....or like a malrove (Marrubium vulgare) with yellow flowers.
Note: Both species are given in Dodonaeus, but in this book more Verbascu(tu)m are described.
