Specimen
Horminium sativum
Salvia horminum L. (= S. viridis L.)
Scharlei salie (NL), Clary Sage (UK), Scharleye (Br).

Note: The name Horminum was mostly used for annual Salvia spp., while in Dodonaeus 'Scharleye' was used for Salvia sclarea L. Salvia horminum originates from the Mediterranean. At present Horminum is a monotypic genus, closely related to Salvia. Its sole species H. pyrenaicum is a perennial plant from the Pyrenees.
